DENTAL LAB PRODUCTION MANAGER (Modern Dental USA, Troy, MI)

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain constant communication with management, staff, and vendors to ensure proper operations of the organization

  • Lead, motivate, and support a large team at our state of the art Troy Milling center, operating within a time-sensitive and demanding environment- including setup and implementation of career development plans for all direct reports and problem resolution

  • Manage the efficient production of all dental restoration production processes

  • Manage timely data collection to update operations metrics to achieve productivity targets, reduce cost per unit, eliminate errors, and deliver excellent customer service

  • Assist with development, implementation, and maintaining quality assurance protocols. Provide training to techs as needed to meet desired standards.

  • Assist with growing the efficiency of existing organizational processes and procedures to enhance and sustain the organization’s internal capacity

  • To read and follow directions on prescription. Follow and understand Dr.’s preferences.

  • Manage all customer service issues- including customer contact, satisfaction, account maintenance, and problem solving

  • Assist team(s) in accomplishing daily production goals & dept. sales goals.

  • Track staffing requirements, hiring new employees as needed

  • Assist monitoring areas to ensure OSHA requirements are met and equipment in maintained properly.

  • All other duties as assigned or as otherwise required

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of dental laboratory experience required

  • Knowledge of dental restoration processes

  • Previous work experience in a supervisory role required

  • Flexibility and adaptability skills to changing laboratory demands

  • Ability to control all in-process laboratory quality assurance standards, while training technicians to meet desired standards

  • Outstanding analytical, problem solving and organizational abilities

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of general business software and aptitude to learn new applications; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Valid Driver's License for occasional driving responsibilities

  • Degree in operations management, business administration or related field

Primary Responsibilities & Skills:

  • Organize and facilitate all technical consultation with the dental center clients

  • Handle all incoming and outgoing calls that pertain to case questions and resolution of technical problems and on-time return dates

  • Be the liaison between the customer, dental center, and Modern Dental Lab production team

  • Visit with clients at their practice or in our office to discuss case issues, assist with chairside prosthetic delivery to the patient, or determine a solution to case problems--i.e. seating problems, custom shades, etc.

  • Assist the Dental Center Leadership and customer service team to monitor all customer service issues, customer satisfaction, and problem solving

  • Assist the Dental Center Leadership in meeting with prospective clients to develop new sales or grow existing clients

  • Assist in special projects relative to client development or sales activities as directed by the management team

  • Assist in quality control of incoming production cases prior to delivery to the client and make slight adjustments as needed to correct case issues

  • Perform hands-on repair or adjustments as needed on work returned by the client--ceramic, removable

  • All other duties as assigned or as otherwise required

Qualifications:

  • A working, practical knowledge in all product areas of the dental lab industry--including dental implants.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a dental lab environment preferred

  • High level of attention to detail with exceptional quality standards

  • Strong communication skills to speak with and meet clients of the dental center and resolve customer service problems

  • Must be capable of professionally integrating within a small service-oriented business team

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
